Local Lowdown October 2026

Transcript

October begins with one of Walton’s tastiest events!

Flavours of Bridge Street returns on Saturday the 3rd of October, from 11 until 5. Come and sample food and drink from Bridge Street’s independent restaurants and discover more of the local businesses in this historic part of town.

There’ll also be live music from The Kimberley Grae Band, beer-can bubble shows and free face painting, glitter tattoos and balloon modelling for children. And you can visit Walton Farmers’ Market at The Heart Plaza on the same day open 9.30 – 2pm.

Elsewhere this month, Riverhouse Barn hosts the Fabric Alchemy exhibition, a fascinating talk exploring the history of smells, the family-friendly My First Halloween Concert and a one-woman show about Emmeline Pankhurst.

You can also enjoy an Open Mic Night at the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse, take something along to the Walton Repair Café. There is live music at the weekends at the pubs in Bridge Street, so be sure to check out The Bear Pub and The George Inn’s social media updates.

This year is a two-week half-term so we know that there are going to be plenty of fun activities around Halloween themes, including our own ‘ Kids Club’, Slime Workshops at The Walton Village and Mask Making at The Heart – so keep an eye out on social media for dates, times and how to book!

And look out for regular favourites, including Sip and Paint, pub quizzes, library storytimes and Mini Movers at Rock Up.

Find more events on the What’s On page at lovewalton.co.uk.

And finally, save the date: Walton’s Festival of Light returns on Saturday the 28th of November!
