Welcome back to your Local Lowdown — your quick guide to what’s happening in Walton this September.

The big event this month is the Walton-on-Thames Heritage Festival, running from Friday 11th to Sunday 20th September.

There are ten days of free walks, talks, exhibitions, workshops, open days and family activities celebrating Walton’s people, places and stories. You can explore the full programme — and watch our separate Heritage Festival video — on the News page of the Love Walton website.

There’s plenty happening elsewhere too. Riverhouse Barn’s September programme includes improvised comedy from The Noise Next Door, string quartets, jazz and a range of special Heritage Festival activities.

At the Cecil Hepworth Playhouse, don’t miss the free Heritage Open Day on Sunday 20th, followed by the musical comedy The Shakespeare Revue on Friday 25th and Saturday 26th.

On Sunday 20th, the Mayor of Elmbridge is hosting the Elmbridge Together Fun Run at the Xcel Sports Hub, with a children’s 2K and a 5K route to run, jog or walk.

And throughout the month, look out for Walton’s regular favourites, including pub quizzes, Sip & Paint sessions, comedy, pottery painting and free community cinema at The Walton Village.
