Welcome back to your Local Lowdown.

Summer is in full swing, and there’s still plenty happening in Walton to help you make the most of the holidays.

We’re kicking things off with our Love Walton Explorers Button Kids Club on Thursday 6th August. Join us at The Walton Village for a free story-time and eco-friendly craft activity based on Bethany the Explorer’s Button. There are three sessions to choose from, and it’s a wonderful way to keep little ones entertained during the summer holidays.

At The Playhouse, there’s a fantastic programme throughout the month, with family entertainment, live performances and summer workshops for young performers. And don’t miss the free Regimental Fundraiser on the 9th, supporting a great cause while enjoying a brilliant community event.

Riverhouse Barn also has another packed programme of concerts, comedy, exhibitions, talks and creative events, so there’s always something new to discover.

If your children are feeling creative, Crafty Pots has a fantastic programme of summer workshops, including clay modelling, canvas painting and pottery activities throughout the holidays.

For those looking for something more energetic, Rock Up has some great summer offers, making it the perfect time to take on the climbing walls with family and friends.

At the Xcel Leisure Complex, young people aged 11 to 18 can stay active, meet new friends and make the most of the summer holidays with two exciting evening activities. Booking essential as spaces are limited.

And if you’ve ever fancied giving bowls a try, why not head along to Roll Up Tuesday at Walton Bowls Club? It’s a friendly introduction to lawn bowls, open to all ages and abilities.

The Summer Reading Challenge is also underway at Walton Library, encouraging children to keep reading throughout the holidays. It’s free to take part and runs until the 12th of September.
