Local Lowdown – July 2025

Script:

Hi everyone – and welcome to your July Local Lowdown, bringing you everything happening right here in Walton this month.

The big one this month is the Walton Fayre, a brand new community event on Saturday 12th July! From 12 noon into the early evening, expect a full day of family fun with something for everyone. Our town centre businesses will be joining in with tombolas, games and activities. Whether you’re bringing the kids, browsing the stalls, or just soaking up the atmosphere, it’s one not to miss!

Later in the month, on Thursday 24th and 31st July, we’ve got the Love Walton Kids Clubs. There will be 2 morning sessions, each with three 45 minute clubs which are all FREE to attend. These sessions include the reading of one of Buttonhole Press’s stories and then a fun eco-craft. Watch out for more details and how to book on our website, social media and Eventbrite.

From 9th July, you can also explore a powerful local photography exhibition – ‘Project 39: A Disposable Lens on Invisible Lives’ – hosted by Rentstart at the Playhouse. Running through to the end of July. Well worth a visit.

Over on the blog check out our recent articles. We took a look at Craft Beer and Walton’s pub scene AND featured local businesses Bona Tailoring and Walton Stitch! For International Yoga Day, the spotlight was on Brain & Body Yoga, Pure Gym, The Method Gym, and their newly opened sister business Origin Pilates.

And did you know it’s World Chocolate Day on 7th July? and who better to visit than our award-winning local gem Cacao Route. Delicious treats, dog-friendly vibes, and this year’s winner of Best Retail Business in the Walton Business Awards!

Finally, don’t forget to support all our brilliant independent businesses for Independents’ Day UK on 4th & 5th July. Whether it’s food, fashion, gifts or services – shop small and support local.

That’s your July roundup! For more details and updates, check out lovewalton.co.uk and follow us on social media. Have a fantastic month – and we’ll see you at the Fayre!
