Update: 23/11/23: The Elmbridge Borough Council Cabinet approved the ‘Development Brief’ for El Grove.  A public consultation will run from 5th December 2023 – 29 January 2024.

15/11/23: PUBLIC NOTICE: On 22nd November the Elmbridge Borough Council Cabinet will consider a draft ‘Development Brief’ for the Elm Grove site in Walton-on-Thames.

It is not a planning application, a Development Brief is a planning document which sets out parameters to guide future development, including how any future scheme will be required to meet national and local planning policies and guidance.

After the cabinet meeting, in fact from 5 December 2023 to 29 January 2024 an online questionnaire will be available to gather comments from businesses and residents.

This link goes the main article on the Elmbridge Borough Council website, which gives a clear overview of why and what the development brief is looking at. This is the link to the full cabinet agenda and papers, this project starts on page 63 and has items in the appendices.

Walton BID (Business Improvement District) encourages all businesses and residents to engage with the questionnaire when available.

Walton BID (Business Improvement District) is pleased to read the EBC documents and note that The Elmbridge Community Eco Hub* and The Walton Bowls Club are clearly to be considered and continued as part of the plan.   * we, no-one, does not know exactly where yet, as this is a long term vision project, but we hope it will be within Walton-on-Thames.
